Has anyone figured out to turn off the requirement to log a comment before shutting down/rebooting win2003? Also, where do you find these comments you're forced to enter should you need it later?

Thanks

I havent really looked where to turn off that annoying feature. I havent really "played" much with my server. I'll let you know what I find out, if anything.

You mean the Shutdown Event Tracker? Here ya go...

Click Start > Run > Type MMC File > Add/Remove Snap-in... Add > Group Policy Object Editor > Add > Click Finish and Close then OK

Navigate through > Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > and select the System folder

Double Click Display Shutdown Event Tracker and select Disabled.

I found the policy and disabled it, but I still get the stinkin' tracker box. Any ideas on if I am doing something wrong?

Also, I disabled autoplay for the CD-Rom in the same area and that worked.
