what is "Raise Domain Functional Level"?

| I Upgrade win2k to win2k3 on my lab to test the adprep / forestprep and adprep /domainprep commands.
the upgrade was suscefull, and all dhcp, dns, ad, ous, gpos was preserved and are functional.
what means the option "raise domain funcitonal level" on windows 2003 users and computers?

| It's essentially like switching from Mixed mode in Win2k to Native mode in Windows 2000. No OS can be a DC that is older than that version and in exchange for that it provides some security benefits.
