| Well...MS is getting their $$$ out of me this go around. This test is very difficult but I actually felt I passed it. Lots of CA, DNS, GPOs, etc. Going to reevaluate what just happened and schedule for next week again. Study hard as I am about to go round 2.

| Hi there,
Don't sweat it. If it is any consolation, a Trainer that I know also failed this exam and she is one of the most intelligent people that I know and is often hired out as a consultant to major businesses. She certainly is a well experienced MCSE. She sat it as soon as it come out though and the MS objectives weren't too clear then. But still she reckoned that it was a real Demon.
I am sitting 296 on Tuesday morning (Mon afternoon USA time)and I can say that I am approaching it with a fair amount of trepidation. Oh well all we can do is our best.
Good luck on the re-sit. 
By the way is there any info on the amount of people worldwide who have recertified MCSE on 2K3?

| Well JohnnyBeGood, I got invited for the 299 beta, so I am working on that through early December. The book is in the mail though, I would like to do 296 very early next year.

| Thanks for the encouragement. I would have to gather that the number on 2K3 is very low on the MCSE end.

I felt like I passed. That is what is weird about it. I am going to retake next week sometime I hope.

you said you felt like you passed, was it a "barely" pass or a "no sweat" pass?
I remember a lof of the questions were really tough. The first time I knew I failed, the second I was 99% sure I passed when I finished. | |

| Johnno- as per your question about the amount of people who have the mcse2003, after I passed th 296 I was still on the "early achiever" list, so still under 5000 people worldwide.

| I hear ya, am currently going through the same thing with 70-292. I thought I did well too. There is more to this than what is actually being shown. However I think it is possible to dump your way through these exams. I personally know some of the dolts that have passed it, and that has to be the only way they could. They all share a similar coincidence. They (3) attended the MS workshop, and applied for the test with the subsidized voucher. Whereas I have not. Like you I will hit the books, and leave no holes.

| Now that I look back I have researched some questions that the exam reminded me of and I have found some weaknesses. I am patching my brain right now and I will be retesting on Saturday as I still feel I was only a few questions shy at most.
The only way to combat ignorance is to learn and practice. That is what I am doing now and that is the way I will always do it.
