| I have 5 free licenses the came with my server 2003 copy, I want to add more to my server . How do i go about doing this?
5 of the licenses are per server, But I want to add 15 to per device , also change the 5 from server to per device.
Can Anyone assisst ? | |

| Under 'Administrative Tools', 'Licensing'. May sure you have 'License Logging' service running somewhere in the domain, I think this service is disabled by default. | |

| I enabled it , thanks.
But the licensing is still in a unpurchased mode.
Do, I have to enter in a key?
It is not asking for any keys to prove that I purchased it. | |

| I cannot speak as a complete authority on licensing, but I would definitely do two things:
a) Make sure you completely understand the implications of 'Per Device' licensing.
b) Review general licensing issues and options with your vendor.
When I converted my lab server from 'Per Server' my 'Per Server' licenses disappeared. When you input new licenses in either mode, I don't think a code is required, just the appropriate certificates on file for each CAL. |
