| Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out which service is responsible for allowing Computer Management on a remote computer. I've been searching everywhere and plugging away on my VM server and no joy. Any ideas?

| I hope, you are talking about Server 2003 Remote Administration...if not, i apologize:
First off, Active Directory needs to be installed for it to work.
What you are looking for is
"Remote Administration (HTML)"
Here you go:
Open Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components. Here, open "Application Server" and click the Details button. Now, open "Internet Information Services (IIS)" and click Details once again. In the next dialog, open "World Wide Web Service" and its Details button. In this last dialog box, you need to select two components for installation: "Remote Administration (HTML)" which is what you want, and "Active Server Pages" which is required by the Server Administration to work. Click OK all the way back to the first dialog and click FINISH to install the components. If your installation source is on a CDROM, don't forget to insert it when prompted.
Some more Info about it here

Darn, that's not it. I'm looking for the service that is used when you add the Computer Management snap-in in the mmc. What service has to be running on the remote server to allow it? Thanks for the help!
