| i got invited to this exam which runs from september 29th to october 10th.
any resourses | |
|
|
|
| thank you for the links
were you invited also to this exam.
|
| yes, I am already registered for Oct10.
Im looking foward to this exam.
|
| i have decided to read my 70-214 exam cram and review 2003's new security features. | |
| isles1 2003-09-19, 11:48 pm |
| That's probably a good idea. The 214 incorporates a lot of what is on the 216 and 217, and the MS Press did not cut it, at least not for me on my first try to pass 214. Needless to say, I did not pass it the first time around.
The 214 was tough, so I would not expect the 298 to any different. I can only imagine how LONG this beta will be. 50 questions on the 214 took me just short of the allowed time. So much reading, I was shocked.
The Exam Cram 2 by R. Braggs is supposed to be quality material. I guess it should be coming from a InfoSec guru like herself
|
| i only got exam cram 1
any ways good luck on this test, this is a design exam not like the 214.
any one else doing it.
i think JB will get invited, he always wanted to take this exam.

| Pens? Oh I get it!!! | |
|
| I thought 298 was going to be sorta like 220? not like 214 like some of u mentioned | |
| jeff_j_black 2003-09-21, 9:21 am |
| 220... | |
|
| yes 220 but having the knowledge of the 214 is the same thing. | |
|

| It was not about believing you or not.
If you had called and were able to register, I was going to do the same.
Gotta love glitches when they work in your favor
Good luck | |
|
| the invitation says that you cannot register until tommorow. so i will register tommorow, i will test with prometric, because at the vue testing center they always give me the computer with a scratch on the screen and it realy anoys me when i see it. also prometric had better PCs and comfy chairs. | |
| Tarzanboy 2003-09-21, 10:19 pm |
| I don't care where I go to take the exam, as long as the environment doesn't kill me and the pen has a tip smaller than a Crayola marker, it's all good.
Cheers,
TB | |
| jeff_j_black 2003-09-21, 11:44 pm |
| I will be doing a rendition of some star wars light saber dual with whatever pen I am issued. The test center I choose will secretly record it and later circulate it on the web and make millions. | |
|
| exactly that is why they have cameras to sell it, they might pretend to give you the test but when you see the video of the back of your head scratching you head, saying i know this one, why did i read this one, smash the key board, kick the screen, play cat and mouse with the mouse, you will know that this is true. | |
| isles1 2003-09-22, 11:52 am |
| As of 11:45 EST, the test is not available for scheduling on Prometric.
Registered with VUE this morning, but I prefer the Prometric center as they have later testing hours on Saturday.
|
| i registered also for vue, prometric does not seem to be offering the test, i do not like my vue test center either.
but if they offer it at prometric i will register for it again and then cancel my vue test.
| maxmax79 2003-09-22, 5:11 pm |
| I thought that the invataion said that the test was only going to be offered @ VUE testing centers....Doesn't really matter to me because my VUE and Prometric testing centers are the same place I will be there at 10 AM on 10/10 taking this one. | |
|
| good luck, and yes it said only in vue, but it does not hurt to try. | |

| Hi Guys,
New to the forums here. I'm an MCSE on both the Windows 2000 & NT 4.0 platform now trying to find some time to plan my MCSE upgrade to 2003 (new messaging certification is enticing). Anyways, with respect to 70-298, I too received an invitation to take the beta and have scheduled it for the 10th of October.
Time to start looking for studying resources.
|
| has anyone taken this exam yet?
when is everyone registered for it?
any feedback or reviews?
thanks | |
| BladeIICrash 2003-10-04, 10:23 pm |
| i take the test today good luck to all | |
|
| good luck,
tell us afterwards on how you do.
cheers | |
| Tarzanboy 2003-10-10, 11:44 pm |
| Well, since either no one has commented on it:
I thought the test was above average in terms of "fairness" and had 10 case studies, 81 questions, 220 minutes.
Some case studies were a little easier than others, some left you feeling rushed. It didn't feel like a difficult test, except when you had the occasion to fight the clock on a case study.
A good amount of the stuff covered in the exam should be almost second nature to people who know their way around the topics covered in 70-216 and 70-217.
As a warning, for the most part things are similiar to Win2k, however WS2k3 and XP do make some significant changes. Fortunately, these changes are covered in the ResKit in detail, if you are patient and diligent enough to find them.
Also, don't forget to always scroll to the bottom and to the right.
Cheers,
TB | |

| I was suppose to take this exam last friday, but I have an emergency popup the day before so I missed it.
Yea, that really sucks, but Ill be there for 299 hopefully. Looking foward towards that. |
