| Passed this a few hours ago with a score of 876/900 ... with which, of course, i'm quite pleased I put in the work (approx 40 - 50 hours) and found the test fairly easy. The most difficult aspect of the test was the question wording and the grammer
I studied using ...
Exam Guides/books: All-in-one exam guide by Gregory White, isbn 0-07-222633-1, which covers pretty much everything that I encountered in the exam. Each exam objective is very well covered and goes to depths that exceed that of which is expected in the exam. The "end of chapter questions" are similar in both difficulty and format to that of the exam question. There were maybe 3 questions in the exam that weren't covered by this book!! The CD that comes with the book is, quite frankly, a bag of shite ... I had a quick look and now use it as a coffee mug coaster. I read the book completely and then reread the chapters that i felt i was lacking and googlized a couple of subjects for more info.
Prep Tests: Used Trandumper a couple of hours before the exam. There's a surprising amount of similar questions!!
Experience: 10 years with the last 2 focused on security.
I also checked out various cert forums for advice on exam formats, etc ... Thanks for that.
Make sure you understand the weighting of each of the objective domains, go to the comptia site for this. What was in the exam? Well, it's easier for me to tell you what was NOT in my exam ... Risk and Change management, OS baselining, and security law. That’s not to say that your exam will not include these!!
This worked for me!! Hope this helps and good Luck. Not that you'll need luck if you are prepared to put in the work.
Roll on CISSP!! Bring it on!! | |
