| Hi,
I just passed Security+ this morning with 840. Find it more easy then expected, and, strange fact, more easy then the new A+ 2003 exams (I must admit that I was not well prepared for A+).
Here my recommendation for the exam :
1 - L'entrée : Sybex Security+ : very well written and clear. Good and easy introduction. Contain material not cover by S+ exam that help a lot to understand the whole picture of the Security domain.
2 - Le plat principal : TCat Full PDF. I read it twice. Lot of material and cover all you need to pass S+ exam.
3 - Le désert : ExamCram Security+. Very condensed so don't use it for your first reading but perfect for the final revision.
4 – Le digestif : I take one week just to make every practice exam on Sybex CD-ROM. I also using practice exams that come with TCat PDF and I buy the TCat practice exam PDF (300 questions). Finally, Examcram contain 2 practice exams of 125 questions (at the end of the book) + 2 exams on CD. Seem a lot of questions but make huge difference during the exam.
Now on track to MCSE 2003 Security.
PS : Know your TCP/UDP ports. Maybe this list may help you
