| Thanks for all the tips
Passed with 812
Here's my take on this test.
For the most part it was fair. There were some questions that were way too subjective, and since I knew that was coming, and did my best and tried to answer the Compita way.
I used the following for the exam:
1. Sybex book. Good read, and explanation
Goes to much in depth on some subjects and not enough on others
2.Exam Cram 2, probably the best for encryption IMO. Helped me understand all the keys, and hashes.
3. Ms Book. Was kinda boring, but explained some things Like Kerebos really well
Practice Exams
1. Boson good questions and explanations. Best quizzer out there
2. Prep Logic was good but somewhat easy
3. BFQ was awful, didn't like it a bit
Good luck to those who are going to take it.
Now I gotta sell my books on Ebay to afford the 70-290 materials

| Congrats! Sounds like you had a good amount of questions on encryption and related subjects on your test? I basically had no detailed questions on encryption, kerberos and the like. Which I thought was very odd, and was also disappointed since I prepared the most on those subjects. Guess it just shows u gotta be prepared and the tests could be very different. | |

| Hi,
I hate Ms Press book (but they are excellent for insomnia). So, do you think that Sybex and ExamCram cover Security+ enougth to pass exam ?
| sapiens74 2003-09-30, 10:39 pm |
| Yes they both cover it more then enough
I only like the MS book for it's real world applications.
Most of us will be working with or on MS platforms so it helps
But the other 2 books are great to pass the exam |
