Hello,

I felt that the questions on this exam were fair. I already have quite a bit of experience in the Information Security World, so some answers seemed like common sense to me. I tend to over-study for my exams, so I made sure that I used multiple sources to study. I always say in these Forums that no matter how much experience you have you should still study HARD. Here are the list of things in order I used to study:

1. Sybex's Security+ Study Guide

2. Tcat's PDF Security+ Study Guide

3. ExamCram2's Security+ Study Guide

4. Transcender's Security+ Practice Exams

I took a detour to finish the Security+ cert, now I must complete 2 more exams to finish the MCSE. Study hard, you will pass! Good luck everyone!!!

Congrats...Great Job ...!! Can you please tell us which areas were more focussed in the exam? What are your tips for preparation? Yes I accept with you . No matter how experienced we are , we should prepare well enough for the exam. Out of the study guides you mentioned, which proved out to be most useful? And which are not that useful at all?

spradeep1979,

Which areas were more focused on the exam? Well...all of the study guides I read were pretty in-line with CompTIA's Security+ objectives. Here you go.....I'll list my opinion of the books I read cover-to-cover compared to the real exam:

1. Sybex - Adequate coverage

2. Tcat's PDF - In-depth coverage

3. ExamCram2 - Not enough coverage

4. Transcender Exam - Fairly close to the exam. This gave me a good feel of what type of questions to expect on the real exam.

Some free practice exams I found on-line were either too easy or covered topics not covered in CompTIA's exam objectives. I hope this helps. I apologize for taking so long to respond, I've got a million and one projects going on right now at work. Good luck my friend!
