Im like 13 and 0 I have never failed a test but this 85% pass mark has me kind of worried. Any tips for the test? I needed them for this one... and for everyone that will take this is after me I will post a review after I PASS! and some tips! =) but I could use any help I can get.. Im using Sybex, CBT Nuggets, Learnkey, Boson, Tcats study guide both of them.. yea I purchased it it comes with a voucher/study guide pack. Im also using some questionable BLACK HAT sites for education purposes only =).. I know most of this but I don’t know that I know 90% flat out. You know on test day you get kind of mixed up and 5% of what I know goes out the door. So any tips or words of encouragement will help greatly. If anyone else is taking there test soon.. GOOD LUCK!!! I have been studying for this thing for about 4 days now. Im taking my test on the 11th..

Well youngeryoda - I think you have a pretty good range of materials. The beachfront quizzer is a not too bad study resource, but like any quizzer once you have done it 3 or 4 times you just remember the questions and answers.

I think your best bet is to use your practice tests and then see what areas you are weak on. Quite often you may be weak in one area using say Boson, but good in that area using beachfront - this is usually down to the way the questions are worded.

There are many good white hat sites too, plus some useful white papers from places like NIST or NSA.

I found some good white papers and the RFC’s are always a good tools if you know where to look I guess.. Im also Studying for the CIW Security Analyst Test. Actually The subject matter is very similar. I found the CIW Sybex book to be more informative than the Sybex Security+ book. It even has cool LABS =). It seems to be much more vendor neutral focusing on the attacks and encryptions in general. Studying for both of these exams at the same time did me a lot of good. in terms of being well rounded. I hope I don’t get mixed up and Give a CIW answer when COMTIA wants a COMPTIA answer..

Ohh and I looked at BeachFronts page and there’s no Security+ Quizzer?..

You can find beachfront

You may find some CISSP questions on the Comptia test (same question, but different answers), but if you have your head around what Comptia is looking for you should be ok. The exam is full of subjective answers (or multiple corrects where you need to pick the 'most' correct answer), so being able to answer correctly doesn't always mean much.
