I got this via email and downloaded it. It looks pretty interesting.

=============================

How secure is your network? Want to quickly discover if there are any rogue machines or unauthorized open ports?

Find out in minutes with Ecora's latest FREE utility, EcoraŽ NetExplorer. Discover just about every type of device running within a specified IP range, giving you a complete, up-to-date inventory of your network. NetExplorer can also scan all TCP and UDP ports to close potential security holes before someone else finds them. Click here to download this free utility now!

Ecora NetExplorer gives you a complete snapshot of your environment, but that's just the first step. For complete control over your IT infrastructure, you also need to collect and report on configuration data and missing patches for every mission-critical device discovered on your network. Monitoring changes to these systems on a regular basis ensures increased system availability and reduces security vulnerabilities.

With Ecora's Total Configuration Management solution, you get an automated approach to securing the IT infrastructure and reducing operational costs through multi-platform, enterprise-wide configuration reporting, change monitoring, and patch management from a single administrative workstation.

While you're downloading your free NetExplorer utility, be sure to grab a free trial of Ecora Enterprise Auditor and Patch Manager. This suite of software enables management of tens of thousands of configuration settings from databases, operating systems, network devices, and applications as well as patch analysis and remediation for mission-critical Microsoft systems.

Hacker:

Are you referring to my post as spam or the fact that I got the advertisement in email?

If the latter, I got it because I subscribe to a variety of WLAN and security based email groups and it was passed on from there. The company is legit and they are smart enough to know that if they want to push their "for sale" more powerful tool, they need to put something out there to show the unwashed masses how good their stuff can be.

If the former, then I don't have much else to say. You can take my post just as it was put...just trying to share.

Yes, only tests the password. I prefer Retina/Iris from eEye.

I thought you got a spam asking to test the product. Okie, you subscribed. I have heard of cases where the mail seems to good to be true, then it happens--trojan installed.

Thanks for sharing.
