| This link probably has way more than you need in the exam, but if you work with Wireless as part of your profession, it is very detailed and good.

| Yes . . more great links. In studying for this exam, I am finding quite a few great resources on the net.
Best Cryptography explainations:

PKI tutorial:
http://www.opengroup.org/messaging/...ki_tutorial.htm
PKI Trust models:

I am finding that a great way to study for this is creating my own ' study guide ' based on the exam outline and filling in the holes from many, many resources. Sometimes this means going into Barnes and Noble for a few hours and taking notes from the MS Press Security+ Guide, Syngress' guide etc . . . and then here, using the internet to locate knowledge and info that pertain to the Security+
Then of course - to share all that I find so others may be successful.
PEACE,

| Cheers dood, we appreciate the links.
As far as the exam goes - prepare very well and expect to see questions that are very esoteric.
I missed on this exam yesterday by 20 points and have to say that is was the most confusing Comptia exam I have taken yet. Some of the answers are subjective so one must understand exactly what Comptia wants.
I prepared well and used both the passport Series and Syngress books along with the Learnkey CBTs and Tcats PDF, however I had questions on some things that were only covered by both books to a reasonable level and not as deep as Comptia demands.
In all honestly I still should have passed, but I was kinda dumbstruck by a few of the questions and just couldn't get my mind back the where I needed it to be.

| Russ,
No worries on not passing; you now have the biggest advantage of all. You've seen the test once. I missed CCNA by a few point the first time I took it. Seeing the test once sure helped me in the 2nd take.
Thanks for the info. It is most appreciated. I will not take this exam lightly.
Much appreciated,

| So true - even with the screwy questions and the off the wall ones I still should have actually passed it anyway. I'm gonna wait until I can read the Sybex book before I resit. Not sure if I am more angry at Comptia for having such crappy questions or myself for not being able to put them aside and get on with the job in hand.
I am not a SME for sure, but I do know the subject to a reasonable level and have been assisting a couple others with their study. Those guys are now scared witless - they think if I missed it then they haven't a chance. I guess the next week will be just building their confidence back up.
Of course the other problem is the $495 NZD exam fee - you know how many celebratory beverages that would have bought? - Plus a well earned weekend laying on a beach somewhere without a book in sight.
