| Here's a bit more specific info than the amazon reply.
This is a great link to get you started, TCAT's beta FREE guide:
http://home.surewest.net/tcat/Left.html
There's also more links on this site for Security+ .pdf study guides on other people's posts in the Security+ forum.
Also, the test question subject matter on the Comptia exam is done by Subject Matter Experts ( SME s ). Because of this, it would be a safe bet that some of the CISSP guide topics would match up to the Security+. For intance, Cryptograhpy, Attacks, 802.11, WEP, Biometrics can be found in CISSP material. There is a lot more free stuff on the net for CISSP free guides than for Security+ right now:
For instance, the following site has a TON, yes a TON of free stuff for CISSP,( but you have to register name + email ), but its well worth it.
http://www.cccure.org/
The cccure.org site has a bunch of .ppt slidshows on encryption and other stuff. Really great
Microsoft Press even has a " Comptia Authorized " book out for the Security+ exam that may represent some of the 'wording and language' used in the exam ? I went to Barnes and Noble and scoped out this book, it seems to really go beyond the exam outline and include other stuff - That one may be good, but probably not absolutely nessescary. ( Kindy pricey )
I am using the advice of people on this forum and bought the Mike Myers' Passport. I like the passport book so far. ( Also people on Amazon liked it too )
The best approach would be to use mulitple sources, trusted sources to study from because many security concepts are the same accross the board, but authors have different ways of wording them. Thats why it may be good to look at CISSP books too.
Do a google search for "Free Securty+ study guide" and another for "FREE CISSP study guides" and you'll find tons.
Any other input, anyone ?
Cheers!
