| The exam cram 2 book is great. Of my sec+ books, it is the only one I have completed. the all-in-one security+ book is good so far, but I'm not finished reading it yet.
I read exam cram first (in one day actually) to give a quick, general overview of security+ and now I'm going through the much longer, more in depth all-in-one book and taking my time to let it all sink in.
Great way of studying for me, may or may not work for you.
I also have tcats free pdf that I plan to read next. From the bits and pieces I've read of it, it is very good. I've heard the $20 one is much improved. If I feel I need more study, after I'm done, I'll buy it.
Then I have hacking exposed, microsoft security, and cisco books, as well as many websites for the little bit of extra security and general info outside the scope of security+ which always helps me on tests...when I use it.
UNFORTIONATELY, I have yet to take this test, so while I can say I like these books, I cannot comment on how well they cover they exam.
One thing you can do is surf amazon.com and read the available chapters in any security books they have available it's the hard way to do it, and you don't get complete info but hey...it's free.
Good luck | |

| Crpypnkrck,
I will be resitting the Sec+ exam Thursday.
I honestly can say I don't feel I would be retaking the exam if I had used Tcats PDF, and the Sybex book from the get go. Both of these are very valuable resources. TCats PDF if by far of the best in regaurds to covering the objectives you need to pass the test, and add the Sybex Sec+ book, your sittin on go. Worth the investment if your serious about Security.
I will also add don't underestimate this test. There is no mercy lol
Best Of Luck!!!!!
