| I'm probably the luckiest soul to sit and passed this test. Passed yesterday with 844.
To be honest, this is the first time to go in for a test without the confident that I will pass, 'cos I did not prepared as I nomarlly do. Jesus helped me with this one. I read the Syngress book twice and used the 80 questions compiled from QoD as a practice test. That book is deep on some subject and failed to mention some terms. I had question about Lattice and Bell-La-Padulla. What the heck are these, latin or greek words?. I still dont know and will be waiting for replies. I had a question about OS fingerprinting and it has nothing to do with biometrics' authentication. Lot of questions on CIA triad, authentications and method of network attacks. And what is stealth?. Syngress book did not mention anything about all these. I used the method of elimination and my experience from the past tests to eliminate wrong choices. Overall, it's a fair test for entry level security technician. I could understand while some people said the exam is badly worded. Some questions is like phrase, incomplete sentences. You've to read btw the lines to understand what Comptia is refering to. I would not advice anybody to try what I did 'cos you might not be as lucky. I believed I'm officially MCSE(Security)pending the respond from Micrososft on Security+ as an elective. I,m laying off books for couple of weeks b4 going on to Server 2003.

| Congrats
As you say, it is a lottery. However with your not knowing stealth, Lattice and Bell-La-Padulla I am very surprised at your pass.
BTW - Sec+ is only one part of adding the security bit to your MCSE - here

Yeah, you also need 70-214. Same with the MCSA: Security cert.

| Russ, regarding Security+ as a part to MCSE(Security), please go back and read my post on "Security+ as an elective". That will answer that question. | |
