I didn't know the final release was $225.
Man I'm even more glad I passed the beta.
At that price the number of SEC+ people will grow slower.

for that price I will just take cracks at ccie security written...

you really do have to wonder why other exam venders can keep it at around 100-150 bucks while comptia price is so bloated...

and this does not just refer to vender specific exams which I suspect are often subsidized, but other non profit venders like LPI... which is 100 bucks and the promotion is only 80 bucks...

but I don't htink the demand will be slowed by the price... the cost is spent on suits... advertising, trying to convince everyone, corporate to consumers, that they need security+ certified people... and with that demand... ppl WILL pay 225 to get that cert... and be happy about it because they think that's money well spent... chicken or egg... hard to say...

WoW! CompTIA is asking for $225 for Security+ exam. I already think the other CompTIA exams for $199 is already pricey as compared to comparable certifications from various companies/organizations. I would love to see an itemized breakdown of the costs from CompTIA (not likely to happen though).

at present, I am working on my Master CET. I work in an industrial environment so my exposure is more Process than people (I like that). Most of my systems are closed and they don't let me mess with the front office network (corporate paranoia, but probaly well founded). I tend to be more hardware-centric so that's where I concentrate. I've got 4 more exams before my CETma. After that, we'll see.

My wife has gone back to school for her Masters in CS so that comsumes quite a few resources, as well.

I have seen it at Lasergrade.com for 160.00, but it does not show it is for Security + at the bottom when checking out. ExamVouchers is a ripoff. I'll wait for Gracetech to come out with a Security + voucher.
