Dear Friends,
Please advise me on security related certifications, as i am looking forward to appear for a security related certification. I am a bit confused as to which certification should i opt and prepare for, should i go for security+ or should i go for SSCP. Also please advice me as to which entry level security certification is the most valuable form job point of view.

career wise i don't think any certification really help?? may be CISSP will help u a bit.. but at the end it's really how much u know.. how much experience u have etc that really help...

no point getting any cert if don;t even know how to setup a firewall, IDS etc right?

you didnt give any info on your computer background as far as A+ or Network+ type knowledge, but security+ is for entry level type computer security i think the SSCP wants you to have a miniumum of 5 years experience and the sec+ is lifetime.
As far as actually having certs verus knowledge here is my opinion... its kinda like college or even high school. you might not know crap but you got a piece of paper that says you do and now you can ask for more money. personally i learned alot studying for my certs and they look good on the resume.
