Author MCSE path

After reading a alot of articles on experience vs certification what Im lead
to believe is to get the full benefit out of an MCSE, one should not proceed
unless they have the neccessary experience to back it up which will enable
them to fully comprehend the material. After doing some research, I come to
this conclusion:

Entry level Candidates with no experience: Any MCP
Around two years Experience: MCSA
More than two years experience: MCSE

Would anyone care to share their thoughts?

It's darned difficult to get an entry-level job without an MCSE. And
employers don't know what the heck an MCSA is.

I would disagree. I went to a tech institute to get my Windows NT
MCSE and it is the best thing I've ever done. I didn't know very much
(I had received my A+ on my own and some Novell Netware knowledge, but
no NT experience) and going to school was a great opportunity for me
to learn it.

However, I was lucky at the time because I had an actual network Ithat
allowed me to practice and apply this knowledge before testing... but
it was the certification that gave me the incentive to learn as much
as possible. Also, this was LONG before the MCSA (and any idiot who
doesn't write out the complete title deserves the reprecussions of a
confused interviewer).

Sounds like a "the chicken or the egg" type of question. Hope that
helps!!

Entry level Candidates with no experience A+
Entry level Candidates with 6 months experience MCP
[color=blue]

That is the *first* one that I've heard of. That employer must be
more clueful than usual. I hope you get the job!

i'm pursuing my MCSE specialising on security for the 2k3 server, c/o Microsoft after i got the 6 month trial copy, got two pcs at home and a laptop. Now what i'm trying to say is don't fork your money to some corrupt i.t school, you'll learn alot more by setting up your own home lab; check for local listing of a computer fair near you to find some cheap computers to practice on, and get the cd from Microsoft.

good luck.
