Author Early Achiever question

I've received early achiever for both Win2K and 2003 MCSE's. On my Win2K EA
card it shows date certified as the date I passed the last exam for the
Win2K MCSE.

However on the Win2003 MCSE EA card it shows the date certified as the date
I received my original MCP. What's up with this? Th 2003 MCSA EA card has
the same as the MCSE.

To confuse matters more my Charter Member card for the 2000 MCSA shows the
year 2002 which puts it in line with the 2000 MCSE EA card.

Looking at the cards it would appear that I certified early in 2003 several
years before I passed the 2000 exams. Does anyone know why it was done this
way contrary to the methods in the past?

Look on the bright side. Next year some doofus will advertise a job
requiring an "MCSE with 5 years of Windows 2003 experience" and you
can claim that you qualify!

That was the smart aleck answer. The real answer is that big
organizations do stupid things, and Microsoft is a big organization.

I like your answer. On the bright side how many of us can prove that we
have 5 years of experience with 2003 (it'll be 6+ next year).

I've seen ads asking for 7 years with W2K and I know I started that several
years before W2003 so I'm really on a roll. Just wish I could remember when
I started NT (might have been before I was born)

I agree. My several years experience with Windows2004 (aka Longhorn)
have shown me that what you say is most true.

Of course this software works best on my Pentium6 8.5ghz computer
with the ATI 10000+ Pro Deluxe Supreme with 1 gig mem due to the heavy
demands made by this sophisticated OS.......

Thank ya' very much!

Elvis

You got it to run with only 1 GB or RAM, it must suck. I highly recommend
that you get another 3 if you want any performance at all. Come on the
minimum recommended is 4. I bet it even sucks at solitaire64.

I asked MS about this and here is the reply:

We understand that the wallet cards can sometimes be confusing. Please be
advised that the wallet cards do not show the date achieved for each
specific certification but instead show the date that you were first
certified as an MCP. It is very similar to a bank card having the "Member
Since..." date on the card, it is to indicate how long you have been in our
certification program.

So this means you are all right, we will have 5+ years of experience before
you know it...soon we will be up to 70 .

Joe.
