I am doing 70-224 and I am trying to upgrade my existing system

I have two DC's both running AD and 1 running Exchange 5.5 with the email
coming from the ISP.

one domain is the admin domain with Win 2000 server with its own domain and
AD but no exchange

the second domain (marketing) also has its own AD plus it has Exchange 5.5

there is a fibre link between the two domains as the admin domain uses the
marketing domain to access the internet

when I set mailboxes up in Exchange 5.5 I just point the primary account
link to the AD where the account is held and the mailbox is attached to that
user on either domain.

Now... with Exchange 2000 it uses the AD to manage the mailboxes and
everything...

Do I have to install Exchange 2000 on one or both AD's and how do I get them
to see only 1 mail route ??

thanks

hard? no.

i figured you're studying to pass a test (thus the reference to
70-224). if you need help on something this basic you're fishing for
an answer to something 1) theoretical, and 2) something you should
learn how to do.

maybe others have different reasons for not answering.

From what I am seeing is that both domains are in the same Forest, but you
have two separate Exchange organizations or sites. The Exchange 5.5 server
sounds like it is on a W2K member server in the child domain. This server
can only be managed with the Exchange 5.5 Exchange Administrator.
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...&Product=exch2k
to the parent domain with exmerge and see also
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/t...55migrate2k.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tr...ry/mme55e2k.asp
I do not know what the scenario is exactly in the 70-224 module. See also
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=325921 and

Maybe Nino or Mark can add something on routing groups, my experience here
is limited? Hopefully this will get solved soon.
Routing Groups? Look in the context of the entire mudule and then do a
search in the MS Knowledge Base to get clues on the best solution to solve
this problem. The Fiber Link is not a part of the problem.

no. if you need the esm or need to see the 'exchange' tabs on the
user's property page then you can install just the esm. no need for an
entire exchange server.

forget the domains. are the two servers in the same 5.5 site? are they
in the same 5.5 organization?
