70-291: NWLink multiple frames types
|

| Page 1-24 of the MS Press book: Autodetect feature cannot properly resolve
situations in which multiple frame types exists. Edit of the registry is
requird in such cases.
Knowled Base article #324280 suggests using the Manual frame type detection
button and adding a Network frame number in the Frame type box.
Which is the correct way of doing it? Does someone know then the exact
Registry path to accomplish this?
Thanks.

Or the dialog boxes.

Manual is certainly preferable to automatic in almost all cases (a lab where
you know that Auto will work might be the exception but in that case you
could just "set it".)

Most people use the Dialogs.
And I wouldn't worry about this too much anyway -- on these exams or in
most real life situations. NWLink is becoming less popular; defaults on
modern
equipment to 802.2 and just has to MATCH on all communicating stations.
It is strictly an NWLink/IPX issue.
