Any ideas on whether it's better to start preparing with for
the MCSE track with the Windows 2000 exam (70-210) - or should I start
out with the XP Professional exam (70-270) on the theory that most IT
departments that will be hiring will have upgraded their Win2000
systems by now?
(Actually I'm currently studying for the CompTIA A+ exams, so
by the time I get through the MCSE track, Longhorn might have been
released already...)

Well, XP has it problems. The workplace I am at is still on Win98. The
attitude is if it costs too much then we will just use what we have and make
do, and be happy with it. It's good enough. Win2000 is not as heavy on the
memory resources as you know. IMO, M$ will have to force people at gunpoint
to go to Win XP. Anyway, I am only one person. Perhaps others could weigh in
as well.
