ADC Connection Agreement problem!
|
|
|
| hello all. i have been experiencing some weired intra-connection agreement
problems when configuring ADC on a Exchange 5.5 server SP4.
I followed the instructions given in the MS press book to configure a new
two-way recipient connection agreement and once everything is done i get
this error.
Unable to create Intra-ogranisational Connection agreement using specified
Exchange 5.5 Server.
The Exchange 5.5 organisation is different from Exchange 2000 organisation.
Connectin agreements to different Exchange organisations must be created as
Inter-organisational connection agreements.
select the inter-organisational connection agreement in the advanced page
before continuing
ID no: c103aa39
Microsoft Active Directory Connection Managment
what am i doing wrong? wat does it mean the exchange 5.5 organisation is
different from exchange 2000 organisation?!?!

| Hi,
I'm having the same problem. I'm assuming that we cannot go on an install exchange 2000 without establishing at least one 2 way connection agreement??? | |
|
| Hello,
From your description you are dealing with two seperate Orgs like me. There
is a
checkbox on the "Advanced tab of the Recip CA to enable an InterOrg Recip
CA. This will create contacts in the AD domain. I don't think this is what
u r wanting to do. If u installed Exchange 2000 first and then later
installed 5.5 then you
indeed have two seperate Orgs and an InterOrg CA would be called for.
InterOrg CAs are always One Way.
It is possible to bring a 5.5 server into an existing E2K org, but I would
not advise it unless you have no other
choice.
To answer your question, yes, you need to join E2K into an existing 5.5 Org.
When doing this you be able to create an IntraOrg CA (Two Way) . Typically
this is done before installing E2K, but can be done afterward.
If you are piloting this in a lab like me then I would suggest the following
article to
help guide you in setting up a migration scenario that implements the ADC.

| Just to be sure it was mentioned...E2K has several modes, 4 the last I
checked, in "native" mode you will not be able to access or join an E5.5
server to your organization, just as in NT to W2K, native mode is a one-way
upgrade and doesn't tolerate down grade versions.
