How hard was the test and can you suggest any good follow-up study guides?

The absolute best study guide for exam 70-214 is the one from Sybex:

Exam #70-214: Implementing and Administering Security in a Microsoft Windows
2000 Network
Book: Windows 2000 Network Security Administration Study Guide

I took the Beta, it covered anything that could be on a Windows Network and
how do you secure it, Windows 9X through XP Pro, NT 4.0 - 2000 Servers (SQL,
Proxy, ISA), Novell, Unix, Mainframes, etc, etc .

I used the 70-220 stuff and then everything I could find on security from
all the other books, like IIS and ISA, SQL. Plus I used experience from
actually managing security and a Network environment.

HTH,
