Author CompTIA towards MCSE or MCSA?

I read that the CompTIA A+ and Network+ count as an elective towards the
MCSA. Does this also apply to the MCSE? I am getting ready to start on the
MS tests and already have the CompTIA certs (and ~9 years previous IT
experience).

No, A+ and Network+ do not count towards the MCSE.

Sorry but you are not correct.

Here is the link to the Microsoft web site with the relevant comptia exam
info, and how it can count towards your MCSE

CompTIA for MCSE is only the Security+, not A+ or Network+.

But does it count towards MCSA? I have my A+ and MCP certification, if I
took
the Network+ exam would I then be MCSA? Right now I am just debating about
what road I am going to take. Right now I plan on studying for Novell 5
(for the Hell
of it!), Cisco for the CCNA, and I am considering Network+ if it would get
me MCSA.

CNE 5 would entail 6 CNE5 exams plus the CNE5-6 upgrade, which needs to
be done by Oct 31st.

CNE6 is 5 exams.
