| Help!
I recently formatted my 98 laptop and upgraded to 2000 Pro. Of course RAM
etc all got upgraded at the same time.
However, since then, my LAN access has been very slow. It takes about 30-60
seconds to transfer 5Mb on 10/100 LAN.
I have played about with the MTU, MSS and RWIN settings thinking this may be
the cause of the problem but no difference.
The network card is connected to the corporate LAN which has Cisco switches
running - they are running at 100Mbps. The network card is a Xircom which
is also indicating 100Mbps - in fact Windows 2000 also shows the connection
at 100Mbps.
I have no doubt that I am making a 100Mbps connection but something
somewhere is slowing me down.
What would everyone recommend as ideal settings for MTU, RWIN etc. for LAN
access - or does my problem lie elsewhere.
