Hi guys,

2 PCs, both runnning Windows 2000. Both have NICs
PC1 wants to connect to PC2 (Host mode) by dialup
RAS is started on PC2 and I can connect.
PCAnywhere is waiting on PC2.

Question:
PC2 is not connected to another network so there is no UTP cable attached to
the network card.
LAN IP for PC2 is 192.168.4.1
It is enabled, but disconnected from the network.
When I connect to PC2, I cannot ping 192.168.4.1.
Obviously, is this because it is disconnected?
If so, I I install the MS Loopback adapter, can I then DISABLE the LAN
connection and then try a ping of 192.168.4.1? Will I then be able to open
PCAnywhere?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Be sure you use the IP address from the dialup for the Host PCA
connection. first dialin and then start the PCA host

I don't get it. You say you are trying to connect via dial-up. Why do you
need a LAN (or loopback) interface if you are using dial-up?
