Hi guys,
I think all of you are wonderful posting and answering questions here. I
have learned a lot from you, and want to continue to learn from people who
know more than me.

I have a Cisco 2514 and a cable modem with 1 ethernet and 1 usb port. Is it
possible for the cisco 2514 to do NAT?

depends on the IOS.

i believe NAT was introduced in IOS 11.2. A "show version" will indicate
your IOS version

Yes. 12.x IOS has NAT built into IP Only images. 11.2 and below
requires PLUS image or better. I think 11.3 has it in IP Only...can't
remember.

Guys,

If I dont have 12.x IOS image, is it freely downloadable, or do I have to
pay for it?

As far as I know, the IOS image must be purchased/licensed when you acquire
your unit. Even though if the previous owner had paid for his or hers
software, the IOS licensing policies say that "IOS software licenses/rights
are not transferable".

You may confirm this rumor at Cisco's website.
