| Man, I was hurting right out of the gates. Just wondering what you folks are using for study guides. I used exam cram,Sybex and transcenders. Need to go back to the drawing board. | |

| The best study guide is to practice. When I studied 70-217 I had a w2k
server and a w2k workstation and I practiced everything that I was studying.

| I feel your pain! I have a server at home with 2 pro computers connecting
to the domain. After doing my own labs at home after class, and studying
for one month every day, I failed the test. I had what I thought was a good
understanding of the course. I was scoring in 90% range in each practice
test using Testout, Measure Up, and Trancenders. I walked in the test booth
feeling confident, and walked out with my tail between my legs.
This is what I want to do for a living and I want to be the best. But when
I saw each test question, I was floored! I am not sure that my instructors
could pass the questions I was asked!
Build on what you already know. What choice do you have?

| 217 Was a royal pain. Out of a class of 12, we saw close to 6 variants of
the test and some of the questions were down right stumpers. I lucked out
passing each test but , it was a prayer when I hit submit to get my
pass/fail. My background has been network infrastructure for the last 18
years and when I took my classes it was "reluctantly" because I was hands on
to busy to certify. The hardest part I found was thinking Microsoft way
instead of reality. Once I understood that concept, it was fairly easy to
pass the tests.
Sorry you failed 217, but I wouldn't be down on yourself out of 12 people
only 3 passed the first go and all of us were die hards. In the end we are
waiting on 1 person for our class to finalize his MCSE.
I lucked out and went to a school here in Las Vegas called The 4th R and had
a great Instructor who was a retired Microsoft employee, he was very strong
on showing the Microsoft train of thought to testing and then "here is the
reality in the real world".
Good luck on round 2 of the test.
