For all You MCSE's...

| OK, I have passed 210 and 215 within 2 weeks of each other.
I am going for 216 next.
Now my question is, is this the hardest test if the 7?
I have heard nightmare stories about 216. I am in a MCSE Academy class, and
the instructor has not spent a lot of time going over this particular test
because of time restraints. I want to know if this is the hardest test, and
if I should give myself an extra week to study. as it stands now, i have a
test scheduled for every 3 weeks from now till January so I will be done
with my MCSE by mid January.
These are the tests I am taking
210
215
216
217
218
219
222
Is there a different one I should take to help me better prepare for 216.
Thanks Guys!
Thanks,
Couv

| Personally i would pass some of the others first, then tackle this one as
the last one.
That's only my opinion though, and you should really study more first.

| Well I do plan on studying more. Just a little info, I have been through the
Cisco Networking Academy and have my CCNA. I hear that helps a lot, any
input?

I'd suggest 217 before 216 as they cover similar content but 216 is harder.
I can't remember the number , but the design exam that corresponds to 216
was the hardest for me.

| Hi
You didn't mention the CCNA in the first post!
216 covers a lot of subjects in detail. RRAS, Certificates, IPSEC, DNS,
WINS, DHCP etc.
Whilst i'm sure that your cisco experience will help with a lot of the
elements, i still would suggest you do some of the other exams first, so
that you get to answer questions on these subjects without having to know
them inside out, then when you sit the 216 your experience will be that much
improved.
Also as Dr Zoidberg mentions in his posting, it also depends on what design
module you plan to sit. Personally i sat 220 and it there was a strong link
with 216.

| Big time Ditto on 217 before 216 comment. I heard 217 jokingly called "216
lite" in more then one of the places I studied at. 220 was far and away
harder for me then any of the others.
If you need some other Guidance let me know.

Of those you list, I think the large majority of folks would find 216
by far the hardest - but it's a your mileage may vary deal. However,
a large degree of 216's difficulty comes throught the way the
questions are asked and the way the graphics in the questions are laid
out. You have to wade through an enormous amount of crap. (Maybe this
is MS's crackpot way of simulating a crisis with screaming users and
irate vice-presidents, who knows.)
The content is not a killer. DNS, DHCP and WINS are pretty easy. RRAS
I've always found annoying, but maybe that's just me. IPSEC and
Certificates can be tricky unless you're using them alot. Many posts
give you the main topics the test covers, and a CCNA should definitely
help, but remember there can be differences between the Cisco Way and
the MS way.
What I would do, just so you know what you're in for, is cruise around
the net and look at a bunch of practise exams. The ones that annoy
you the most will probably be those most like the test
good luck

| oh, btw, i forgot to mention, if you are taking the migrating test,
studying for it may help with 216. As I recall (and it's all
receeding into the fog) 216 has a couple of questions asking, what if
you have nt4.0 this or that and you are implementing w2k this or that,
what do you do.
