migrating exchange 5.5 to 2000 ?

Hi ,
Can anybody please tell me how do i go about, migrating WIN NT with Exchange
5.5 to
WIN2000 server with exchange 2000 .
what i mean to ask is how do i save and get back my data and all the
settings in my current exchange 5.5 to exchange 2000 ??
can i do that little import export thing here ???

| I am not really trying to answer for the migration question. But trying to
learn.
Logically when I think of this sitation 1st he should upgrade
NT =>2K and then Exchange 5.5 => Exchange 2K
Sarfraz, do you have resources to conduct test machine?
I mean it out on different machine to see?

think of this in terms of looking up the info at

I didnt feel much like doing a web search for you, you sound like
you're well capable of that. (the 2003 process is very similar to
going to 2000)
I suggest a clean NT4 BDC installation promoted to PDC
followed by an inplace upgrade to WIndows 2000
Look for the white papers on migrating / in place upgrades
Install Exchange 2000 in mixed mode on a fresh server and use the
Exchange move mailbox tool to move mailboxes to the new server before
decomissioning the old exchange system (another big ish task)
Look for the white papers
