Author Just passed 70-216. Now I'm a MCSA.

I passed the 70-216 exam yesterday. I found it very difficult and thought I
had failed.

Long story short, I was sent to one testing centre (who are no longer a
testing centre) and was told that I was the second who had arrived for an
examination only to be disappointed.

I contacted Prometric and was rescheduled for later in the day at another
location. I arrived at the location and was told that the examination was
cancelled and that they had tried to contact me to tell me this. I even
received an email from them telling me this. The problem was that I wasn't
at home, I was in the testing center (that was no longer a testing center)
so could not receive any telephone calls or emails.

The personnel at the second testing center went out of their way to get the
exam organised so that I could take it there and then. They finally managed
to organise it, so I sat with great trepidation in front of my final MCSA
exam.

After all that tension I thought that I would fail miserably, but I passed.
I do have the feeling that it was by the skin of my teeth, but I have
passed.

I had I believe ten of the blue border questions, and 50 of the normal.
Maybe it would be an idea to have double monitor computers when this exam
is taken, I found (several) of the blue border questions difficult to
answer basically because I couldn't see enough of the exibit at one time.

All in all a very stressful day, with a happy end. I am glad it's over.

Congratulations!

Test centre's are closing left, right and center, they don't get any payment
for tests unless they do a certain number per month.

I gather your on-route to the MCSE, so how many and which ones have you got
left?

I had a similar experience with a blue border Q. Never could see all
the windows on the screen and just blew off the question. Passed. I
wrote to mcphelp@microsoft.com and told them they were great guys
please forward the email to the proper person and then complained like
an SOB about this blue border idiocy. Suggest you do the same.
Suggest everybody with an mcp do the same. Otherwise, I bet it gets
worse before it gets better.

Microsoft now seems to be testing your ability to scroll around a
screen to see windows that they are too dumb to arrange properly.
Maybe it's a valid skill..... But as dunderheaded as they are, MS
does listen to complaints if it gets enough of them.

At the end of the exam you get the chance to add comments. If nobody add's
comments about these questions then no-one is going to do anything about
them.

Put up or shut up.

Strange. I would have thought they were paid per exam, there goes my dream
of setting up a test center. Where did you get this information? I hadn't
heard this before.

No. I am on route for MCSA, so I am finished as far as I am concerned. I
may continue studying, but I will have to pay for the exams myself, and
they are (for me) expensive.
