dhcp and ddns: secondary dns server

| So, lets get this clear:
dhcp server with one scope (really doesn't matter how many scopes)
ddns is configured correctly.
I am not using Active Directory integrated dns.
When the clients lease from the dhcp the ddns registration will be sent
to the dns server defined for the LAN adapter for the dhcp server.
If the dhcp server is configured to point to only secondary dns servers,
which are read only by nature, where does the clients ddns registration go?
No where?

| put in commas.

| Nahhhh
IPCONFIG /REGISTERDNS will try to update the secondary server and
fail. It will then query the secondary server for the authoratative
DNS and the client call to register will then go to the DDNS (or
authoratative DNS primary).
On DHCP lease acquisition, the new ip address is held in DDNS or
standard primary and if configured correctly will notify the secondary
of a change updating the record from DDNS/Primary to the secondary.
If your DDNS/Primary server is authoratative for your domain.
Your standard secondary pulls its info from somewhere, if we presume
the DDNS/primary then it will hold the right NS records to ensure
correct function.
The key here is, configure the DDNS/primary and Secondary correctly.
Sounds plausible doesnt it ? Dont take my word for it, it only takes a
few minutes to prove it with a few machines.
Of course you could really frell things up by killing the primary and
only having secondaries which would result in a disaster after the
default 24 hours...
