a friend of mine is embarking on their mcse what do you people think would
be the best exam to take nowadays, the 2KPRO or XP exams ? i would have
thought that there are more PRO boxes out in the field but do you think a XP
cert would be better ?

I would say Win2K is the better route as most large companies are only now
finalizing their rollouts of the platform and the demand (at least in my job
market) for XP is minimal.

Hi,
NT4.0 to 2000 you cannīt change the examen, but 2K and xp you can change the
examen of the MCSE track.
I take MCP on Win98, NT 4.0 Prof, 2000 Prof and XP Prof too. ( donīt pass
xp) I believe 2000 and xp is only a little step. NT and 2000 is a new
generation.
in future i will pass all Workstations (professionel) examens. Now iīm MCSE
on NT and 2000, but i donīt like any 2000 examens more. If i refresh my
examens, i will only make the newest xp or DotNet Server examens.

Go with 2000 exams... Microsoft stated that the interchanging of
exams is no longer acceptable for MCSE. .Net/2003, or whatever it
will end up as, are not out yet. When completing the W2K MCSE, you
can upgrade to .Net/2003 or whatever.
