Problem deleting emails with Outlook 2000 SR-1
|
|
|
| When I try to delete emails from my inbox I get the following message:
"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook."
I have restarted many times and I always get this, the rest of the program
seems to be working OK. I have tried the in box repair facility several
times and allowed the upgrade to large tables and still same problem.
I have noticed that several people have had this but i haven't seen any
solution other than the ones i have tried. Has anyone had this and fixed it?
TIA
Lee

Is there an error code? Are errors being logged to event viewer?

| Dont worry mate i'll cure it a piece of piss!!! Obviously your pst is
damaged and beyond repair. But a simple solution is to export your current
mailbox to another pst and use that!

No error code, just the message as detailed above. Nothing in any of the
event logs. I was wondering if maybe I had reached the capacity for number
of objects so tried to purge the items in "Deleted Items" but it gave me the
same error and would not let me delete them. I am going to download SP2 for
office 2000 and see if that helps. Though I am not that hopeful as
re-installing sr-1 didn't improve matters!

| I bugged this during the Office 2000 Beta but 'cause it's not an easy one to
repro there was no fix done.
