| I am running W2k Pro on a laptop. I have a batch file that runs every time
the machine starts up or reboots. Does anyone know how I run the batch file
minimized rather than it popping up every time ie. Login script
Thanks in anticipation

| Oh I forgot to mention that the batch files runs from the startup folder
rather than form the domain controller. Will the GP work in this scenario

| since you are running win2000 why not use gp for the scripts rather than
that crude start menu method. you can use local GP without having to deal
with a domain controller.

| Go into the start up folder, right click the batch file, and select
minimised.

I do not know if one can actually set a batch file to minimize but you can
set a shortcut to run minimized as long as it is calling a dos program. A
batch file is a dos program so this will work.
So, rather than putting the batch file in the startup folder put a SHORTCUT
to the batch file in the startup folder. Then right click on the shortcut,
select properties, then set the Run field to "MINIMIZED".
