A+, Net + , MCSE, MCDBA Costs?

| What is the average cost of attaining a A+, Net+, MCSE, MCDBA, not
including testing fees?
Is $6000.00 for A+, Net+, MCSE and MCDBA a good price?
The courseware is Element K, which I found to be fairly good.

| I agree that the courseware of ElementK is pretty good. Awhile ago I did
some online, instructor-led courses for A+ and some other programs but if
you can develop a study habit you might be better of purchasing some study
books (e.g. Mike Meyer's for A+ and Network+ and the Sybex or MS books for
your MS certifications). In the end you'll pay less and if you have any
questions, the people in this newsgroup can and will (in general) help you
out.)

So far I've payed about $280.00 in books, about $75.00 in used hardware and
about 3-4 years of my time. I'm A+ and N+ certified and moving towards
MCSA. Once I have my MCSA, I'll spend another $200-300 in books for my
MCSE/MCDBA. (All prices in US dollars).
Here's a good site with references for books and whatnot.
http://www.selfstudycerts.com/
I've used Meyers for A+ and N+, and I was given a copy of his 070-210
passport book. I'm using Sybex for the MCSA and the MCSA All in One desk
reference for Dummies as supplemental material. That plus I have a
mini-network of 3 computers that I practice on.
Hope that helps,
Ben

| I paid about $15,000 in tuition and probably another $2,000 in books. That's
about $12,000 US. BUT I now feel like I know what I'm talking about.

| That's Canadian, and I took the 2000 track at a tech school. I wanted to get
a good groundwork to start building on so instead of fumbling around on my
own and struggling, I went to school. And it did just that. The only thing
I got out of school was a basic understanding of how everything worked
together, but I found I didn't really learn anywhere near as much as I did
compared to when I was out in the field, but I never would have gotten there
if I dodn't go to school first. Some of you guys that have been tinkering
around with machines for years took a different approach, that's all. I just
wanted to go to schol first.
