| Hi Gang
I in my humble opinion am now convinced that this Microsoft certification is
now just luck, I do subscribe to the view that you must know your're subject
but to be honest having done a lot of different types of exams and studies a
couple of points come to mind there is now clear concise sylabus for each
exam jumping from text to text different simulations which mean you could
get any combination of questions and not to mention the syntax of the
questions so if you get the right questions on the day all the better if not
try another day

| I understand your point entirely. Having previously sat thru one or two
Microsoft Official Curriculum classes, THEY DO NOT prepare you for the
exams. The questions on the exams come from so many different sources that
it would be impossible to read them all.

| IMHO the MOC classes are not designed to prepare you for the exams. They
are there to show the basic features and functionality of the product. The
tests are designed to be for people who know and use the products. The
tests are to quantify product knowledge and distinguish oneself as having an
above average working knowledge of a product. We all know that the MS
products don't always work in the real world like they do for the tests but
again, this is where a trained, experienced person has an advantage over a
paper cert. Don't expect the MOC to train you, use it as a learning tool or
starting point for your training.

| I agree with your statement, unfortunately, the courses are marketed to
people who intend to take the exams.

well J Carnell from the posting "I hope this is a joke" does not seem
to for one
He told me that proper MCSEs only do things the Microsoft way. ie they
would not dream of using Backup exec as MSBACKUP is so much better!!!!
