MCSE Newbie...

Hey Folks:

I have looked at the Sybex - MCSE: Windows 2000 Core Requirements (2nd
Edition) set and the Microsoft - MCSE Self-Paced Training Kit: Microsoft
Windows 2000 Core Requirements, Second Edition, Exams 70-210, 70-215,
70-216, 70-217 set. To me, they both look great! If money was not an
issue, I would buy both; but, I am on a budget. Which would be the best buy
and why? Thanks.

If you don't already have the evaluation copies of Win2k Pro and Server I
would go for the MS Press for that reason. Although I have not used MS
Press, I have used Sybex and found them to be upto the job, although their
questions are nothing like what you will encounter on the exam. Having said
that, a lot of people have their MCSE thanks to Sybex and there is no reason
why you shouldn't either! Good luck with you studies - whatever product you
choose to buy.

I was very satisfied with the Sybex materials and have used them for
my CompTIA, Microsoft, and Cisco studies. They will give you a good,
consistent approach to learning the material across all of their
books. Still, for you, the best to buy will depend on what you end up
being most comfortable with.

For a few more book options, take a look at:

Good luck!
