I hear the 219 (AD Design) exam has been increased to a maximum of 300
minutes (5 hours). I'm curious to know if it generally takes the full
amount of time to complete and just how difficult is the material (say
compared to 216)? I've already passed 210, 215, 216, 217 and 218.

I took the exam 2 weeks ago. It is scheduled as a 5 hour 15 minute exam.
Remember that this time includes the surveys before AND after the exam.

As far as the exam itself...I used about all of the alotted time. Each case
study is timed seperately. The last was VERY hard. My suggestion would be
to know your MOC and even brush up on 216 & 217 material.

Good luck.

I took the 219 last Friday and it took me about an hour or so. I basically
read each question first and then went back through the case study and
looked for the info I needed. I thought it was pretty straight forward.
216 was about knowing the details, 219 is just having a good grasp on AD at
1,000 feet.

Thanks for the insight, I've got a couple more Q's regarding the
format:

Does each case have an individual time limit and also, can you go back
and review a case once you've finished it?

Thanks again.

Each is timed separately. You can only go to back to previous questions
ONLY within the same case study. Once you complete one study and move on to
the next, you cannot return to priors cases. As for <SNIP> " it took me
about an hour or so. "<SNIP> ...Either you are a walking MOC or you dump...

Study, take your time, read the questions, and wear comfortable clothing.

You'll do great.
