Author How to configure DNS on Child domain?

Hi all,

I have a server running as a AD child domain. It is also running DNS. What
is the best way to configure the TCP/IP properties on this server? Should
the preferred DNS server point to this local server or the root server?

I am having what I think are replication issues. I don't think my DNS is
configured properly. If my servers for that child domain have their
preferred DNS server pointing to the child domain server's DNS. I cannot
connect to the root domain. If I change the preferred server to point to the
DNS server on the root domain. It works fine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

LT
