Hi everyone...

I've read several post on Smart Force...most of them were older
posts...I purchased the MCSE packet a few months ago but I'm just now
getting around to using it. I am just intersted in getting more up to
date reviews of the products...has anyone acutally passed an exam
using their products...I do have some experience in the IT
field....and BS in Computer Science....and have my MCP NT 4.0...I
passed that exam years ago just by hands on and experience and
studying...If anyone has had a good or bad experiences with Smart
Force I would appreciate your response...also if you used other study
materials what materials did you use...Transcenders..etc...

Thanks in advance...

Don't make the mistake of relying on SmartCertify's material to pass any
exams. I have made contact with others that have found mistakes in their
content. Their courseware is boring, overpriced, and poorly put together.
When I first contacted them, their sales rep promised me upon passing my
exams I would be referred to a job recruiter in my area, this promise was
the determining factor in my choosing their courseware, to this day I have
still not been contacted by any recruiters, and from what I now understand,
the promise of job placement or interviews is just a tactic their reps use
to scam you. I would stay as far away from this company as possible.

Ya, I agree, I purchased their MCSE 2000 courseware and was also promised
that I would be getting a FULL version of both Windows 2000 Pro and Windows
2000 Server...not trial versions or anything like that. Low and behold,
when I get the 6 cd-roms, not anywhere to be found was the full oses...I
called and was pretty much told that it was just a tactic to get me to
purchase the product by one of the more "intelligent" techs/customer service
reps they have. Man, I almost went to the better business bureau. I guess
that they are likely to "read" what the customer wants and then just say
"ya" the software come/does that. Jerks!

I knew that I would not be getting the complete oses at the same time as the
study materials, I was told that this was a new partnership arrangement they
had with microsoft and that it would take some time for them to get the
software and create the media to send out. So I waited for I think it was
about a month, then called back. I was then told that it was a lie and
there was no such a partnership anywhere/anytime. It was then that I
realized how over zelous I had been and I tried a nice way to get the
product returned, example, I said that this was the only reason that I
purchased the software, but, I was not able to return the software. Oh
well, eventually I will make full use of the software...

I just want to address some of the issues on here. I work at
SmartCertify. Nathan Allen is not a customer of SmartCertify.
Actually looking through the database, I did not find anyone on here
complaining a actual customer. SmartCertify does have a partnership
with Microsoft.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.- March 1, 2001-SmartForce (Nasdaq: SMTF), the
world's largest e-Learning company, today announced a strategic
agreement with Microsoft Corp. to provide an e-Learning solution to
help Microsoft partners sell Microsoft products and solutions. The
program is directed to the 20,000 plus registered users of the
Microsoft Direct Access website.

The Microsoft Direct Access website provides tools and expert
knowledge that empower partners to market and sell Microsoft products
effectively. Previously, SmartForce provided technical training for
the Microsoft Direct Access website. The successful implementation of
the program prompted Microsoft to expand its agreement with SmartForce
in order to offer free sales training to all registered Microsoft
Direct Access users.

Under the agreement, SmartForce will use its e3 e-Learning application
architecture and Microsoft passport Services to create and deliver an
e-Learning solution based on content co-developed by Microsoft and
SmartForce. The SmartForce solution will help partners develop their
businesses, learn to identify sales opportunities and articulate
product features and business benefits to their customers.

Award-winning content, including interactive seminars and workshops,
simulations and 24x7 real-time collaboration with subject matter
experts, together with leading-edge instructional technology are the
building blocks for the complete SmartForce e-Learning solution. With
SmartForce's e3 object-based application architecture, all of these
e-Learning elements can be managed and personalized on an object
level. e3 also enables the quick and easy publication of new learning
objects to the platform. As a result, Microsoft will be able to update
the solution continually to arm its partners with the latest Microsoft
product and marketing information.

Microsoft partners will benefit from the highest quality e-Learning
solution available complete with fully hosted platform, learning
management capability and an array of collaborative learning events.
This association validates the power and quality of SmartForce's
e-Learning solutions and gives Microsoft a powerful new tool for
training its partner community.

"We're pleased to be expanding our relationship with SmartForce," said
Rosa Garcia, general manager of Microsoft Partner Programs.
"SmartForce e-Learning solutions are helping us arm our partners with
the most effective tools to sell Microsoft products and solutions."

"To maintain leadership in the Internet economy, companies must be
able to deliver critical product and market knowledge rapidly
throughout the extended enterprise," said SmartForce CEO Greg Priest.
"No one knows this better than Microsoft. We are pleased to be able to
support Microsoft as it works to enhance the selling capability of its
partners

> >That is straight off of the press release. Cisco also provides

Smartcertify/Smartforce training to it's employees. The courses are
co-written and developed by Microsoft/Cisco. Funny thing that guy
mentioned about our Linux course. We don't write or make the Linux
course. We are a reseller for the Linux Professional Institute. So,
the LPI come straight from LPI. We are currently the only company in
the world with .Net training. With the merger with SkillSoft, this
company is only going to get stronger. I will be the first to say
that the training is not for everyone. I seem to think if someone
doesn't have the aptitude to do this kind of training, they really
don't have it to be successful in this industry. It is a very
competitive industry. I have customers that were single moms who
never worked before in their life, who were on poverty level,
literally on welfare, take this training and pass. I had a 61 year
old woman, who never owned a computer, bought our courses and then
bought a computer, who passed her MCSE. What does that say for you
tech guys? We currently have over 2.8 Million students enrolled with
us. The United States Army, Navy, Marines, and AirForce use our
training exclussively. If you know anything about the military,
before they will even consider anything, they look at all the options
available. Out of all there is out there, each branch on individual
research choose SmartCertify/Smartforce. PC Computing Magazine, and
Computing Magazine, as well as Brandon Hall and IT Training Institute
names Smarforce/SmartCertify as the top training company in the world.

Recently, we added the SmartQuizer. This is better than any test prep
you can find. It is set up exactly like the exam. From what a
student told us, a ton of the questions on the quizer were the same as
the exam.

Also added recently, was the e Router lab. It gives you 48 seperate
labs plus the ability to create your own. It is the best simulation
to a large network you can possibly find.

When you take a Cisco course, you have access to real routers through
the Cisco Router Farm. It has every single router, switch, and hub
they make. You get to work on a real router, not just a simulator.

When it comes to Oracle, we are one of just a couple groups in the
world approved by Oracle. Oracle is picky about who they will
endorse. Our course is co written and developed with Oracle
curriculumn. It follows Oracle's own classroom setting.

I hope this has been informative. Let me see anyone else out there
that gaurantees certification or your money back. Those that said
they tried to return the course, did you show proof you failed. Did
you do it after the clearly written policy?

The courses work for me. That is how I found this company and started
working here.

Before you start criticizing something publically, look in the mirror
and see if maybe that is where the problem intiates from.

My only problem with Smart Force is that they wont leave me alone.
I filled out there info on their websith once, so I could download the demo
and see if I liked their software. Then they wouldn't stop calling me and
trying to sell me their MCSE package. They kept comparing their software to
other companies and saying that theirs was better then even taking a
instructrue led course. I didn't buy any of their software and I am
glad.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!STAY AWAY FROM smart force!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, first off, I don't want to start a FLAME here, however, being called a
liar in not so many words really turns my crank! Steve Huff......ok, you
may work there, but first off how the (*&)#$(# did you even come up with my
last name? I sure do't see it in my postings. Small detail though, to be
sure. Second, My smart(XXX)certify direct invoice number is 387322 and my
customer number is 7018528634; and on 5/18/2001, I purchased product number
2385 a MCSE 2000 DELUXE SUITE #1 (with Classware) for the great and
reasonable price of $1350.00. Also, it was CSR Larry Cutsinger extention #
1245 that I purchased it from. So perhaps, you should either learn how to
do a proper search or maybe they delete the "actual customer" accounts that
have had problems with their "world renound" service and training!

Sorry to interrupt, carry on.....

Steve,

How do you sleep at night knowing you work for a company that scams, lies,
and cheats just to make a buck? Will you be talking so smart when you are
being federally investigated? Its company's like yours that make it tough
for the reputable ones out there.

Nathan:

I am not one to throw insults. So, I'll let you call yourself the
appropriate name. Look at your email address, and then think of how
it was that I figured out your last name. All I have to say is that
these type of courses don't work for everybody. Some people don't
have the aptitude or dedication to make it. Honestly, if you have to
sit infront of a classroom, and listen to a guy or woman that has no
real life experience in the feild, you really won't make it in this
industry. It is a constant learning process. About the only other
profession that requires you to learn as much, is the medical
profession.

I did find you in our system. But, if you have half a brain, you will
know that alot of people post messages to things they know nothing
about.

I am sorry that your experience was not a memorable one. But, there
are millions of others that have good ones. I have helped many
people. Some single parents living in poverty who are now successful
and happy. You will have bad with good in anything. I hope you found
what worked for you. That is why we have a money back gaurantee. If
it doesn't work, you can take that money and go elsewhere and get
something that works.

As far as Uncle Buck,, I sleep well at night. This company is 100%
committed to excellence and customer satisfaction and quality. If it
wasn't, I wouldn't be here. I have worked for a couple of shady
companies. And, if I even had a hint that there was inproprietaries,
I would quit on the spot. Jobs are so easy to come by. My integrity
can't be replaced, and I will not lose it. There is no federal
investigation you idiot. We are governed by the FCC, the SEC, and a
bunch of other watch dogs. We have not, nor will we do anything
wrong. When you are the biggest, you will always have someone saying
you are doing something wrong. That is how it goes. With 2.8 million
students currently taking courses with us, you know you can't please
everyone.

Steve,Why dont you go to the BBB's website and look up your company and see
what kind of reputation they have, then go to the news groups and read some
posts on your "company" , you are an XXXXXXX and a troll so I will refrain
from any more responses to your posts

Well I am the starter of this thread....One thing I'd like to say to
Mr. Huff...I understand everything you've posted about your
partnership with Microsoft etc etc etc...all you did was copied and
pasted some article that was written by SmartCertify to make them look
good...the comment "I did not find anyone on here complaining a actual
customer." is again incorrect because I am an actual customer and
there is noway you could check that without my last name or my normal
email address...The yahoo address used on this message board is not my
primary email address so it's no way for you to verify wither or not I
am a customer...Secondly, the money back return if you fail sounds
good but you also must read the fine print...It's not as clear cut as
you make it sound...On the upside I did find the 2000 Server Terminal
Service website useful for those who don't have access to an server at
home...but my original question was to anyone who actually earned
there MCSE using Smart Certify and i've yet to find anyone...I only
wish I'd did more research before buying...
