Hi,
thought, ok I know in that case a question. On Internet Connection sharing
using Win Xp ICS(WinXp or Mandrake), can a server on WinXP communicate with
a Client computer, it the server is on XP and the Client is on Mandrake,
Hey I am new to this game, Linux that is, have always gone the way of the
sheep(Windows), After reading about linux what have I been missing these
last few years

Not sure exaclty what you're asking... but I've had win2k running ICS
and mdk using it to access the internet fine. Ditto with mandrake
sharing and using win2k as a client.

Not sure exaclty what you're asking... but I've had win2k running ICS

Yes. Samba allows two-way communication between XP and Linux. "Two-way" in
the sense that either machine can be client or server.

Yeah, you can use XP to access other systems, just not the other way
around, according to the EULA:

"... you may not use the Product [XP] to permit any Device to use, access,
display or run other executable software residing on the Workstation
Computer, nor may you permit any Device to use, access, display, or run
the Product or Product's user interface, unless the Device has a separate
license for the Product."

Wooooooooooohooow! That means that if you are running an SMTP server on
WinXP, you wouldn't even be allowed to get mail from your ISP! Nice one,
microsoft!
