| Hi. i downloaded suse 8.0 and i m trying to burn it but i cant find any
details on the directories structure. So, i m not sure what should be the
contents of the first (which i would think is important) or any of the other
cds. does anyone has a listed structure or a link? thanks

There is no CD structure available. The FTP stuff is meant for
installation via FTP (local or remote) or hard disk. The only way to get
the SuSE CDs for free is to copy them from someone.

| sure, but you cannot ftp 6gigs any day, and it is not very feasible to store
them in the hard drive. I m just looking for a way to transfer the files to
cds in a meaningful way that will enable me to install, somehow

You don't have to. You can download a boot disk or boot CD and install via
FTP from one of the mirrors (AFAIK that requires a router on your side) or
put it on your own local FTP/NFS/Samba server or hard disk.

Are your hard disks that small? Don't you have a tape drive to get the
data off the disk (after install)? A DVD writer would be o.k. too. Or a
spare computer.

As I said currently there is no way of copying the FTP data to CD except
you want to be the fist to do it. But it would be a lot of work. You could
write it to a DVD however. AFAIK the FTP stuff _is_ the official DVD
excluding the commercial/pay stuff.
