| Hi,
I bought a new system on which to install my new Redhat Linux 7.3
Professional Version. I saved $200+ by not having it come with windows on
it. This is the system:
40 gig hard drive
512 meg ram.
CD-RW burner (24X10X40)
USB jacks
Network RJ45 outlet
An Encore (CTR-21) 56kb fax/data/voice modem
ATX motherboard (P4S5A/DX ECS Elitegroup Mainboard, chipset SiS645)
Mid Tower
After I did a clean install of 7.3 NATIVE, I started to set up the network
and modem with no luck for either the network or modem.
I think RHL7.3 has no drivers for the ENCORE modem or the NETWORK
card.
I'm beginning to wonder if Redhat, doesn't yet have specific linux drivers
for the network card, modem, and by the way, audio/loudspeakers/microphone.
Does anyone know of an alternative driver for the above ENCORE modem, in
case I can't get the network going?
By the way, I have driver CDs for everything in this system but they are
all for Windows98/2000/etc. As I've said I have no windows to install the
drivers accompanying the system.
I'd appreciate any advice, help, pointers you could give me.

Ah, sorry Joe, it'll never work -- might as well send me the computer! :-)
Seriously, sounds like a nice computer. I tried a google search, but every
link was broken . . .
