KDE screen off centre
|
|
|
| Hi all,
In KDE my screen is too far to the right.
I use xvidtune to correct this, dump the values on the console and then
edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 with the values (I just add an extra modeline
- "800x600" 56.3 800 852 916 1048 600 601 604 627 +hsync +vsync).
Trouble is, this resets back to old values (ie. off centre) whenever I
start a new session after logout.
Should I be editing some other file?
(I have already looked at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11 and this only has 800x600
so nothing I can do there).
Would appreciate any pointers here. BTW if I alter the monitor then
windows is off centre so this is not a solution.

What type of video card are you using?
What video driver?
I have this problem on my GeForce2 when not using the proper nVidia driver
as supplied from their website!
You'll probably find that this is the same problem.
