emacs color settings
|
|
| Sven Heinecke 2002-07-26, 10:25 am |
| Hi,
an emacs beginner problem I didn't find in the man pages or docs:
The default color scheme is a white background. I changed it to black,
but now the text appears highlighted(?) with the default white colour.
Only empty lines appear black. How can I change the settings to obtain a
complete black background?
thanks for your help
Sven

Probably better to try one of the Emacs newsgroups for this one, but
how exactly did you change the background colour to black? Did you use
a set-background-color function by hand or in ~/.emacs? Did you use
~/.Xdefaults? How did you set your foreground (or text) colour? What
version of Emacs are you using?

I tried different ways to set the colors: M-x while emacs running, the
commandline options and ~./emacs too. The result remained the same.
In the end I figured out that it has something to do with the kde
settings as there's no such problem in blackbox or windowmanager. So
now I'm using wm...and I'm happy with it.
thanks anyway
