| Hiya, I have a problem whilst watching TV. When I attempt to change
channels, mute or anything else I get a loud blip through the speakers. I
use XawTV and the V4L driver, with 2.4.18. My card is a Flyvideo 98
detected as Card 35. The card works fine in every other respect and this
problem does not occout under Windows.
Until yesterday I was under the impression that it could not be fixed,
however it just stopped doing it yesterday until a reboot. I cannot think
what could have helped this since my system was on for days and I did so
many things.
As above, I have worked out it is something to do with either the tuner or
sound card I have (ES1371 SB). Any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.

| With about 4 hours work I found the problem and solution. I had compiled
into my kernel support for TV audio mixer which created a device mixer1.
No dramas there. With this device it has 3 (line%d) inputs for some wierd
reason, anyones guess as to what they do. If line1 is set for record I get
the blips, selecting any of the other 2 gives me no problem. I may even
get rid of this from the kernel one I know specifically how it affects my
system.

| On Fri, 26 Jul 2002 10:19:16 +0800, a rather disgusting and pathetic
creature named Archangel was seen shoving live gerbils down his own
underpants, while Michael <quadfour@iinet.net.au> giggled and pointed
at him.

Thanks for the info.
I'm about to install my second TV card in my linux box, so this could
be handy to know in advance.
Cheers,
