| Hi!
I am using Gentoo Linux + Gnome 2
how can i manage, that some programs are startet automatically after
login? (such as the startup in M$ Windows)

If it is setup the same as GNOME 1.4 and it may not be??
(Start/GNOME button)/Programs/Settings/Session/Session Properties &
Startup Programs

Would that be using *dm or just plain console? Please be more precise
in your future posts.
You have the ~/.bashrc, ~/.xinitrc and window manager specific
stuff to chose from.

To execute them on login they should be in ~/.bash_login; ~/.bashrc
is sourced every time a (bash) shell is opened.
